Ventus

Ventus continues the artist’s practice of transforming complex data into geometric abstractions, with a focus on extreme weather events. This new diptych extracts and reinterprets fragments of a 100-year chart of hurricane tracks centered on Palm Beach, Florida, using data sourced from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s online hurricane tracking database. Vibrachrome printed on metal, the two 60” x 37” panels present an interplay of color and form that captures the dynamic force of nature through a minimalist yet intricate visual language. At a time of heightened public concern over climate change, the work evokes both the elegance and unpredictability of storm systems, translating raw meteorological data into an abstract narrative of motion and energy.
